Purpose - To test if there is any stress produced under severe environment
Criteria - Change in glass, electrode, fluorescent powder or gas materials, or major changes in sealing method on the electrode
Testing Procedures
Step 1 -
Leave the test lamp for 2 hrs at 25±2°C, 35~85% R.H. windless environment and then measure the lamp voltage, starting voltage, brightness and chromaticity.
Step 2 -
Discharge the lamp under 60±2°C, 95±5% R.H. environment for 1000 hours.
Step 3 -
Place the lamp for 2 hrs in 25±2°C windless environment and then measure electrical characteristics, brightness, chromaticity and starting voltage again.
Acceptance Criteria
Appearance has no significant changes, deformed or decolorized.
Brightness is above or equal to 95% after lamp discharge for 3 min.
Starting voltage: Must be less than 10% of its initial value.
Brightness: Above 90% of its initial value.
Chromaticity: Difference of ±0.015 of the initial value.
