Purpose - To test sealing quality at the electrode sides of the lamp
Criteria - Change in glass, electrode, or gas adsorption materials, or sealing method on the electrode
Testing Procedures
Step 1 -
Leave the test lamp for 2 hrs at 25±2°C, 35~85% R.H. windless environment and then measure the lamp voltage, starting voltage, brightness and chromaticity.
Step 2 -
Place the subject lamp into a glass chamber, fill with hydrogen gas up to 760 mmHg. Apply 100°C heat at the chamber (by means of boiling water) for 72 hours.
Step 3 -
Place the lamp for 2 hrs in 25±2°C windless environment and then measure electrical characteristics, brightness, chromaticity and starting voltage again.
Acceptance Criteria
Lamp is able to lit.
Appearance has no significant changes, deformed or decolorized.
Starting voltage: Increase must be < 10% of initial value.
Brightness: Above 80% of the initial value.
